Ghost Cowboy ~ by Javone Jackson

Many cowboys roam Earth, but their own demise leads to their extinction,

The last one rose from the depths of a crow’s nest,

He tricked the reaper with the guise of immortality,

The sound of his broken spurs haunted the outlaws,

Horses dropped their heads and avoided his cloudy eyes,

His hat has claimed many unforsaken lives in the underworld,

His boots will remember when the world turned grey.

Javone Jackson is a 21-year-old from Decatur, Georgia. He says that writing stories and poetry saved him from himself. His Instagram is @vonpoetry.
